PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment restoring method for biodegrading a pollutant in environment by microorganisms and a method for the efficient biodegradation of an org. compd. useful for enhancing restoration efficiency. SOLUTION: Two or more kinds of microorganisms preliminarily cleared in decomposition characteristics are prepared and microorganisms capable of obtaining the optimum decomposition speed are successively selected correspondingly to the concn. of an org. compd. being a pollutant to be decomposed in a reaction system to be used in the reaction system to perform the biodegradation of the org. compd. By this constitution, efficient biodegradation is achieved.
