摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a preferable image stably at a high speed and at low cost. SOLUTION: This image recording apparatus 1 has a number of channels NC of 8 or more for each of three or more colors. An exposing unit 3 comprises at least N pieces of light emitting diode units for each color channel of at least one color. The exposing unit 3 focuses an image by reducing a light emitted by the light emitting diode units with a substantially conjugate relationship with respect to a color photosensitive material fixed on the outer circumferential surface of a drum. The apparatus is provided such that the drum circumferential speed V (m/sec) in recording an image is 3 m/sec or more, the center distance IP (μm) between pixels adjacent in the sub scanning direction is 20μm or less, the standard light output OP (mW) per one light emitting diode unit is 1 mW or more, and the number of light emitting diode units N provided per each channel of each color in the light exposing unit satisfies two formulae: 0.005×V×IP/OP<=N<=0.5×V×IP/OP, and 1<=N<=64.</p>
