PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a CAD system from being executed unnecessarily by copying a design description stored in a 1st storage means to a 2nd storage means when it is decided that the CAD system is executed according to the detected difference between design descriptions stored in the 1st and 2nd storage means. SOLUTION: A description comparison part 106 compares a file in an RTL description storage part (4) 105 with a file in an RTL description storage part (3)104 as the latest VHDL(virtual Hardware Description Language) having its comment part deleted; when there is a difference, a logic composition system is executed and the file in an RTL description storage part (1) is copied to an RTL description storage part (2), but when there is no difference, nothing is done. Thus, the file of the latest VHDL description is copied to the RTL description storage part (2) 101 only when there is a difference except at the comment part to makes a frequency of copying less than when the file is copied in case of no difference.
