PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display at least a communication charge without reading an original again even in the case that the image quality is changed. SOLUTION: An MPU 11 stores once a coded image data quantity and coded image data to an image memory 18. Thus, a communication time and a communication charge are calculated on the basis of the image data quantity and displayed on a display section 17. In the case that the image quality is temporarily changed on the basis of the display, after decoding the image data stored in the image memory 18, the image memory 18 stores the image data are again coded and the coded image data quantity. Thus, on the basis of the image data quantity stored after the image quality change, the communication time and the communication charge in the case of changing the image quality are calculated and displayed. Thus, even when the image quality is changed, the image quality, the communication time and the communication charge can be displayed without reading the original again.
