PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly and simply fix a separating membrane with a permeating fluid flow path material and prevent the elution from a joining member for the permeating fluid flow path material with the separating membrane by forming a membrane unit including the feed fluid flow path material, the separating membrane and the permeating fluid flow path material around a collecting pipe and welding the permeating fluid flow path material with the separating membrane. SOLUTION: A membrane unit including an envelope-shaped membrane 4 so formed as to clamp a permeating fluid flow path material 2 by a separating membrane 3 with a functional membrane and a feed fluid flow path material 6 on a base is wound, for instance, into the spiral shape around a collecting pipe 5, and the permeating fluid flow path material 2 is welded with the separating membrane 3 to manufacture a fluid separating element 1. At this time, a material having the melting temperature same as that of a pressure-resistant sheet is preferably used as the permeating fluid flow path material 2. The permeating fluid flow path material 2 is welded with the separating membrane 3 as described above to securely fix the permeating fluid flow path material 2 with the separating membrane 3. Also, the elution from an organic carbon compound (TOC) from a joining member of the permeating fluid flow path material 2 with the separating membrane 3 is prevented.
