PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method for pointing information on a display by using a pointing device provided with a movable pointing element and a detector. SOLUTION: This pointing device is constituted so that the movement of a pointing element 1 is exerted on a magnetic field m and its change is detected by the detector to point the information. The pointing device 1 is provided with the movable pointing element and the detector 2 to generate a detection signal, to detect the transfer of the pointing element 1 based on the signal and to point the information on the display by using it. The movable pointing element 1 and the detector 2 are provided with means to generate and detect a magnetic field 6.
