PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the load of a working scaffold from applied to a footstep to prevent the deformation or damage of the footstep by supporting a plurality of scaffold support tools juxtaposed in the longitudinal direction of a truss on lateral upper beams of the truss, and laying a scaffold plate between the scaffold support tools. SOLUTION: When a working scaffold is assembled in an escalator installation work for housing and laying a footstep 1 of escalator between the lateral upper beams 8 of a truss, a plurality of scaffold support tools 2 forming a frame is placed in the truss longitudinal direction on each upper beam 8 by use of a panel receiving member 9 for supporting a glass inside plate panel on each upper beam 8. Each scaffold support tool 2 is formed of a longitudinally adjustable horizontal beam 26 laid between the lateral upper beams 8 through a pair of truss grasping parts 25, a longitudinally adjustable upper frame 27 whose lower end is fitted to the projection part such as a boss protruded vertically upward of the horizontal beam 26, and a scaffold plate 3 assembled on the horizontal beam 26.
