PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high heat-conductive silicon nitride-based sintered product having high heat conductivity and high strength without requiring a sintering process at a high temperature and at a high pressure in a nitrogen atmosphere, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This high heat-conductive silicon nitride-based sintered product contains silicon nitride as a main component, contains magnesium(Mg) and a group 3a element (RE) in the periodic table in a total amount of 0.5 to 5.0 vol.% [the magnesium is converted into magnesium oxide (MgO), and the group 3a element is converted into an oxide (RExOy)], and has a MgO/RExOy volume ratio of 1 to 50, a heat conductivity of >=70 W/(m.K) at the ordinary temperature, and a four point bending strength of >=600 MPa at the ordinary temperature. |
