PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress signal level fluctuation due to conventional principle, without using an optical phase modulator. SOLUTION: This optical transmitter is equipped with a semiconductor laser 1, which has a terminal to modulate an optical oscillation frequency through an injected current, a modulating means that modulates the injected current to the semiconductor laser 1, by using a signal that has a frequency fp which is higher than the signal band of the data to be sent and satisfies the condition Δf/fp>1, where Δf is the amount of optical oscillation frequency deviation of the semiconductor laser 1 due to injected current, and a means 2 to modulate the intensity through a data signal which sends the output light of the semiconductor laser 1. |
