PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal insulation form having a combination of high thermal insulation performance with mechanical strength enough to enable a furnace wall to be constructed with itself alone, easy to produce and conduct an assembling work, and also requiring less man-hour for furnace construction, to provide an electric heating unit using such a thermal insulation form, and to provide respective methods for producing the above thermal insulation form and electric heating unit. SOLUTION: This thermal insulation form 1 consists of a composition an outer layer 2 predominant in refractory inorganic fibers and a core layer 3 held integratedly inside the outer layer 2; wherein the outer layer 2 is higher in mechanical strength than the core layer 3, the core layer 3 is higher in thermal insulation performance than the outer layer 2, and the core layer 3 is spread along a plane nearly perpendicular to the thickness direction of this thermal insulation form 1. |
