The invention relates to a process for imparting an electrostatic charge to organic powders to render them useful for powder coating applications, which comprises forming a blend of said powders and a polyalkylene ether as an electrostatically active modifying agent to improve the charge on said powders, and subjecting said blend to electrically inductive or conductive conditions, wherein said powders have a resistivity of from about 10 9 to about 10 13 ohm-meters at about 20 percent relative humidity. The electrostatically active modifying agent may also be a polyalkylene glycol or a polyethoxylated stearyl alcohol.
