PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a clamp device for handling cargo which can clamp stably without dropping the packed body of a simple packing and hurting a packing material and the article to be packed. SOLUTION: In a clamp device provided with a pair of clamp plates 7 supported movably to the right/left direction and mutually faced at the front surface of a support body provided on a working car and provided movably in the mutually approaching/separating direction by the cylinder device for clamping, an engagingly support member 10, projected to the mutually facing clamp surface 71 side respectively, for engaging to the lower end of the upper packing material b1 of the packed body B of a simple packing in which the packing material is covered on the upper/lower parts of the article to be packed is provided on the clamp plate 7 so as to be entered/exited freely by utilizing a spring means 15 against the clamp surface 71.
