PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb a shock to a connecting rod connected to a control mechanism for controlling a moving contact point effectively, economically and satisfactorily. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a mechanical energy storing spring 11 and a cocking mechanism 12 setting the spring 11 to a trip set state, the cocking mechanism 12 is provided with a connecting rod 14 connected to a driving mechanism 15 for driving a moving contact point, and the connecting rod 14 is interlocked with a brake shock absorber 16. The brake shock absorber 16 cooperates with the connecting rod 14 and is provided with at least one of hydraulic shock absorbers 17, 18 fixed to the housing of this device 10 via spring members 19, 20.
