PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy around an output shaft while reducing manufacturing cost through eliminating an unnecessary process (caulking process), by configuring an electromagnetic switch such that it is clamped and fixed axially between a center bracket and front bracket composing outer peripheral member of a starter. SOLUTION: In assembling a starter, a contact chamber Z is assembled on a direct-current motor X, and an output shaft 1 is assembled to a motor shaft 16 via a deceleration mechanism 18. A plunger 4 including a shift plate 7 is assembled on the output shaft 1 and an assembly of a center bracket 30 with electromagnetic switch 2 is coaxially mounted on the output shaft 1. An over-running clutch 3 is connected to the output shaft 1 in splined engagement. By tightening a through bolt 41, the direct current motor X and an operation portion Y are clamped and fixed between a rear bracket 40 and a front bracket 20. Further, the electromagnetic switch 2 disposed between the front bracket 20 and the center bracket 30 is clamped and fixed. |
