摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve torque characteristics and partial load performance during high-load operation of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This system receives various detection signals of an engine (S1) and calculates a target opening 3q1 of a first intake port (S2). At abrupt acceleration in low-speed range, the first intake port with a diameter corresponding to a dynamic effect of intake in low-speed range is fully opened, and a second intake port with a diameter corresponding to a dynamic effect of intake in middle-speed range is fully opened (S3, S6, S7). At abrupt acceleration in middle-speed range, the first intake port is completely closed and second intake port is fully opened (S3, S8, S9). At abrupt acceleration in high-speed range, both the first and second intake ports are fully opened corresponding to a dynamic effect of intake in high-speed range. At moderate acceleration, control corresponding to each speed range is adopted selectively (when S4 is YES). When the engine is partially loaded, openings of the intake ports are continuously controlled in order to improve swirling performance.
