PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a failure surely when the power supply cable or the pulse signal cable of a pulse generator is disconnected. SOLUTION: In a speed controller where the rotational speed of a motor 7 is detected by means of a pulse generator 8 fixed to the rotary shaft of a control object, i.e., the motor 7, to produce a speed feedback, disconnection of the pulse generator 8 is detected when such a state as the speed feedback is substantially zero when a speed reference of the motor 7 is present and a current reference or a torque reference has a substantially limit value continues for a predetermined time, and a disconnection detection signal is outputted. |
