<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase back spin and to maintain the back spin performance for a long time by providing a porous sintered metal face part on the head face of an iron club. SOLUTION: A multiporous sintered metal face part 3 (hereafter called face part 3) is provided on the iron face 2 of an iron head 1 by adhesion. This face part 3 is stainless steel based, and is formed by compressing a coarse metal powder of about 20-60 mesh to a density of about 5.0-6.3 g/cm3, and sintering this. At that time, except providing the face part 3, everything is the same as a conventional club. In forming this face part 3, grooves 5 are formed by machining or molding by a mold. The surface layer is finished by polishing, is given abrasion resistance equivalent to melt-made material by the filling effect. Thereby the free part 9 between powders in the face part 3 absorbs the impact in hitting a ball and back spin can be made easily.</p> |
