<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regenerate desiccants uniformly and efficiently. SOLUTION: If a heater 10 for regenerating desiccants is energized, the heat of the heater 10 is conducted to an outer cylinder 4 from an inner cylinder 3 through six radiating plates 5 provided between the cylinder 3 and the cylinder 4, and hence a chamber 6 filled with desiccants surrounded with the cylinders 3, 4 and plates 5 is heated from the outside so that silica gel 9 filled in the chamber 6 can be heated uniformly and efficiently. When the temperature rising rate of an air dryer 1 after the heater is energized is larger than a reference rising rate, the time over which the heater 10 is energized is made shorter, and if the rate is smaller than the reference rate, the time is made longer, whereby the possibility that the energizing time is too long and the temperature of the dryer 1 exceeds an allowable temperature of surrounding components or the energizing time is too short and the silica gel 9 is not sufficiently regenerated can be avoided.</p> |
