PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent material with both a deodorant effect for deodorizing bad smell produced from absorbed liquid and a moisture permeability. SOLUTION: This absorbent material 1 comprises a permeable surface layer 2, an impermeable liquid-repellent layer 3, and an absorbable absorbent layer 4 being intermediate between the above-mentioned both layers. In this case, the liquid-repellent layer 3 has air permeability and includes or holds a deodorant 7. Thereby, the absorbent material can provide both a deodorant effect for absorbed liquid and a moisture permeability.
