PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet brake abnormality diagnosis device for elevator capable of performing diagnosis without being affected by set dimension of a braking spring. SOLUTION: A measuring means measuring the time when disturbance of current arising at the time of start of a plunger 30 occurs, for example, a sampling means 5 is provided, and this measured time is compared with a judgement value stored in a judgement value storage means 6 by a comparison means 7 to judge whether a brake device 3 is normal or not and whether there is a sign of abnormality or not based on the comparison value by a judgement means 9. Consequently, it is possible to perform diagnosis for an abnormality of a magnet brake accurately.
