PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the cell survival ratio at a high value and stably and industrially utilize a cell by preculturing a cultured cell of a plant under specific conditions and then freezing and preserving the resultant precultured cell. SOLUTION: A cultured cell of a plant such as a plant of the genus Taxus is precultured under conditions satisfying (i) CS<CE, (ii) 0.4M<=CE<=0.8M and (iii) 0M<=(CN+1-CE)<=0.2M (CS is the saccharide concentration at the time of starting the preculture; CE is the saccharide concentration at the time of completing the preculture; CE is the saccharide concentration after N days from the start of the preculture; CN+1 is the saccharide concentration after (N+1) days from the start of the preculture), then frozen and preserved. Furthermore, Taxus baccata LINN is preferred as the plant and disaccharides such as sucrose or maltose and monosaccharides such as glucose or fructose are preferred as the saccharide.
|
