PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the edge reproducibility of a binary image after error spread processing. SOLUTION: The image processing method applies binary processing to multi-value gradation pixels to generate a binary image. The method decides a target pixel 120, decides adjacent pixels 121, 122 to the target pixel, and obtains a density difference between the target pixel 120 and the adjacent pixels 121, 122 respectively. In the case that the density difference is larger than a prescribed setting value, the target pixel 120 is selected for an edge part, and binary processing is applied to the pixels by setting a threshold value at binary processing when the target pixel 120 is the edge part lower as the edge intensity with respect to the adjacent pixels 121, 122 is higher.
