PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive power converter suitable for driving a traction motor in an electric vehicle, an electric scooter and an electric bicycle. SOLUTION: A power converter includes a serial circuit consisting of a plurality of power supplies which include at least a rechargeable power supply, a motor 2, a power converter 4 with an output terminal connected to the motor 2, a switch circuit 101 provided corresponding to one or both of input terminals of the power converter 4 and connected to the whole of the serial circuit of the power converter 4 or to a power supply as part of members in the serial circuit, and a plurality of filter capacitors in parallel with each power supply included in the serial circuit. The switch circuit 101 is normally put in such a state where the power converter 4 is connected to the serial circuit comprising power supplies. At regenerative time, the power converter 4 is switched by the switch circuit 101 and connected with the rechargeable power supply as part of the serial circuit. |
