PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate and reproduce a real 3D motion picture according to real-time changes of the viewpoint of a viewer by providing a step for compressing one or more frames which are partially rendered, a step for outputting the compressed frames to a carrier medium, etc. SOLUTION: Three-dimensional(3D) graphics data representing one scene of a motion picture are received first (S100). Once the data are received, real- time viewpoint limitation is specified (S102). Then the 3D graphics data are partially rendered (S104). After the partial rendering, the data are compressed into individual frames of micropolygons (S106). At this time, the compression can be carried out in several different types, but shape compression is specially effective in reducing a storage area needed for the micropolygons. Lastly, the compressed frames are outputted to a carrier medium (S108). |
