PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing solution for a silver halide photographic sensitive material having rapid desilvering performance, not causing the stain of an edge part and excellent in liquid preservation stability and environmental suitability by incorporating a ferric complex salt of a specified compound. SOLUTION: The processing solution contains at least a ferric complex salt of a compound of the formula, wherein A1-A3 and each -CH2OH, -PO3M2M3 or -COOM1 and may be the same or different, M1-M3 are each H, an alkali metallic atom or other cation, X is 2-6C optionally substituted alkylene or -(B1O)n-B2-, (n) is an integer of 1-8 and B1 and B2 are each 1-5C alkylene. The compound of the formula may be synthesize by a known method and an optical isomer of the compound is preferably used.
