<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an early capacity reduction of a lead-acid battery. SOLUTION: A positive electrode is used manufactured by applying a slurry mixture, comprising barium sulfate and lead powder and having a content of the barium sulfate from 0.001 to 0.1 mol% relative to a content of lead, on a lead alloy grid surface for forming a layer containing barium sulfate on the lead alloy grid surface and then filling this grid with paste comprising an active material. A structure of the positive electrode is provided with a layer containing barium sulfate between an active material layer and the lead alloy grid surface not containing antimony. Preferably, a thickness of this layer is from 10 to 300μm and a content of the barium sulfate relative to lead is from 0.001 to 0.1 mol%.</p> |
