PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine for surely operating the feeding operation of one merchandise in a simple constitution, and for simplifying maintenance. SOLUTION: Merchandise feeding mechanisms which are respectively provided with a carrying member 8 for restraining suspension type merchandise with constant intervals and a rotation driving means for rotating the carrying member 8 at a prescribed angle are set in plurals stages in a case while the carrying members 8 are inclined downward, and only the merchandise feeding mechanism selected by a merchandise purchaser among the plural merchandise feeding mechanisms is operated so that merchandise restrained at the top end of the carrying member 8 of the merchandise feeding mechanism can be fed to a merchandise output port. In this case, a merchandise shortage checker 15 to be rotated according to the presence or absence of merchandise and a sensor 16 for displaying the merchandise shortage state by detecting the operation of the merchandise shortage checker 15 at the time of the shortage of merchandise are arranged at the end parts of each merchandise feeding mechanism.
