SHAPE MODEL, METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SHAPE RECOGNITION, AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORED WITH SHAPE RECOGNITION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize the positions and attitudes of multiple objects robustly even when the objects overlap or area hidden behind other bodies by labeling points and segments which are hidden and changing structure when the outline of an object body is hidden behind other objects and a body other than the object body. SOLUTION: Multidimensional data are inputted from a multidimensional data input part 20. The inputted multidimensional data are stored in a multidimensional data storage part 21. A shape model and a desirable feature point to be traced are inputted from a shape model input part 22 and the inputted contents are stored in a shape model storage part 23. A shape model state determination part 24 compares the shape model in the shape model storage part 23 with the multidimensional data in the multidimensional data storage part 21 to estimate a current shape model. When the outline of the object body is hidden behind another object or a body other than the object, a shape model structure alteration part 25 alters the state of the shape model by labeling hidden points and segments.
