摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion compensation mirror in which a dispersion correction amt. as large as possible and an accurate wavelength dispersion compensation profile can be obtd. SOLUTION: In the optimization method, a mirror having desired reflectance in the wavelength range necessary for incident light is assumed as a subsystem, and the pole position and intensity of the impedance of this subsystem are calculated. An optimized system is determined by moving the calculated pole position and intensity so as to obtain the desired wavelength dispersion in the above necessary wavelength range. Then the refractive index distribution which realizes the impedance function of the optimized system is obtd. by the inverse spectrum method, and the obtd. distribution is used as the optimized refractive index distribution.
