PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate it in real time by a simple configuration using a single laser beam whether a wobbled side wall of a track is being tracked on the inner circumferential side or on the outer circumferential side. SOLUTION: This recording an reproducing device is provided with a photo-detector 60 provided with photo-detectors 60A, 60B divided corresponding to the direction along the track of an optical disk, and is also provided with a wobble signal processing circuit 9 for generating a wobbling polarity discriminating signal for discriminating the wobbling polarity of a track being tracked by comparing the phase of a 1st wobble signal detected from the difference signal between the outputs of the photo-detectors 60A, 60B with that of a 2nd wobble signal detected from the sum signal. |
