PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a shock receiving plate so as to elongate the durability of a fender by forming a substantially conical hole in a resin pad, and passing a countersunk bolt through the hole to fix the resin pad to a steel-made frame. SOLUTION: This fender is provided with a shock receiving plate formed by fixing a resin pad 3 to the front of a steel-made frame 5 by a countersunk bolt 4. In the fender, a hole having a substantially conical section is bored in the resin pad 3, and the countersunk bolt 4 is passed through the hole to fix the resin pad 3 to the steel-made frame 5. In fixing the countersunk bolt 4, preferably the resin pad 3 is fixed through an elastic washer 6 formed of rubber or resin. The countersunk bolt 4 may be directly fixed to the steel frame 5 by tapping the same. Thus, the shock receiving plate is decreased in weight to elongate the durability of the fender.
