UMBRELLA COMPONENT AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip or ferrule of an umbrella that assures safety and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: This umbrella component comprises a cylindrical body 2a made of a synthetic resin and provided with an attaching hole 7a which has an opening 6a at least at its tail end, and a protective body 3a made of an elastomer for covering at least the front end of the cylindrical body 2a. The protective body 3a is formed on the outer periphery of the cylindrical body 2a by insert molding whereby the cylindrical body 2a is inserted into a molding die, and a locking part 13a is formed by packing a part of the elastomer material of the protective body 3a into a locking hole 10a provided in the cylindrical body 2a.
