PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately read an image without uneven illuminance. SOLUTION: The light of a light source 3 provided at one end of a light guide body 4 is spread in a lengthwise direction of the light source 3 to emit a linear read area, a linear image read sensor 8 receives the reflected light from the read area via an image forming lens 6 to read an image. A reflection pattern 4b of a facial shape whose width in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction is continuously and substantially changed is provided to a prescribed position of the light guide body 4. The reflection pattern 4b is provided to a bottom of the light guide body 4 nearly in a triangle shape to correct the uneven illuminance of the light lighting the read area.
