<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which can preferentially control end-to-end data communications via a switching hub. SOLUTION: A router 3 connected with a switching hub 2 informs the hub 2 of the MAC(media access control) address of the transmission destination of a packet sand the IP(Internet protocol) precedence value of the packet having the MAC address of the transmission destination by using an information packet 21. The hub 2 registers the contents of the packet 21 (the MAC address of the transmission destination of the packet and the IP precedence value of the packet having the MAC address of the transmission destination) on a bridge table 40 and, when the hub 2 retrieves the interface connected with the terminal equipment 1 at the transmission destination on the bridge table 40 at transmission of the packet, the hub 20 also retrieves the IP precedence value of the packet transmitted to the terminal equipment 1 and performs data transfer in accordance with the priority indicated by the class of the IP precedence value.</p> |
