PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an abrasive grain body having improved polishing performances and polishing efficiency, having a phase change temperature from a fluid grindstone to a solid grindstone in a temperature range suitable for practical use, capable of carrying out a polishing processing and a grinding processing in the vicinity of normal temperature and orientating abrasive grain in a specific direction by using the orientation characteristics of an abrasive grain orientation material. SOLUTION: This abrasive grain body for grinding comprises the main component of a solvent containing at least one kind of a compound of the general formula R1-COO-R2 (R1 is CaH2a+1; 10<=a<=25; R is CbH2b+1; 1<=b<=25).
