PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an ink jet head by arranging a driver IC having a drive circuit on the surface of the head on the side opposite to an ink discharge direction (nozzle arranging surface). SOLUTION: A nozzle 23 is formed to the front surface of a head main body 11 and an actuator 14 is provided to the rear surface thereof. A driver IC 13 is supported and fixed on the rear surface of the head main body at both ends thereof so as to straddle the actuator 14 to be mounted on the side opposite to an ink discharge side. One end of the relay terminal 70 provided to the rear surface of the head main body 11 is connected to a printer main body through wiring 73 and the other end thereof is connected to the input terminal 72 of the drive IC 13 through a bonding wire 71. Each output terminal 52 of the driver IC 13 and the input terminal of the actuator 14 are connected by a bonding wire 38.
