PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a thermoplastic resin composition powder with a specified particle size while preventing adhesion of the powder to an apparatus at the time of classifying. SOLUTION: An alkoxysiloxane having a general formula (wherein R1-R4 independently denote 1-10C alkyls optionally having substituents; (n) denotes a number of 3 to 20) is added to a thermoplastic resin composition by a method for classifying a powder comprising the steps of dispersing a powder in a gas current, blowing the powder out of a blowing port 1 in approximately transverse direction to the gas current flowing downward from an upper side, dividing the resultant powder-containing gas current into gas currents containing powders having larger particle diameters in the order of distance to the blowing ports in respective branched flow routes 7, 8, 9 in the lower side.
