PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording body suitable for use in an electrophotographic system or the like, excellent in running performance, fixing property, color forming property, offsetting property, transmitting, etc., excellent particularly in oil absorbing ability, capable of forming a high quality image, suitable also for oilless fixation excellent also in suitability to the peeling of an image and capable of repetivie use. SOLUTION: The image recording body has a image receiving layer containing a highly oil absorbing material and a releasing resin on at least, one face of the substrate. The highly oil absorbing material is preferably a porous inorganic powder or a highly oil absorbing resin. The releasing resin preferably contains a curva silicone resin or both a modified silicone oil and a reactive silicone compound. The image receiving layer preferably has surface roughness of 0.01-0.02μ.
