PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fixing method which is capable of mounting an optical fiber at the prescribed position of a substrate with high accuracy and obtaining fixing force having high reliability by providing the substrate having a V-groove for supporting and fixing the optical fiber with a V-groove of a width wider than the width of this V-groove or orthogonal therewith. SOLUTION: An electrode 11 for mounting and fixing an optical part 1, the V-groove 12 for supporting and fixing the optical fiber 2 and the V-groove 13 made larger in the groove width than the width of the V-groove 12 are formed at the substrate 10. A first, the optical part 1 is placed and fixed to the electrode of the substrate by solder agent. Next, the optical fiber 2 is inserted into the V-groove 12 and is fixed and positioned in the state of pressing the optical fiber 2 into the V-groove 12. An adhesive 3 is injected into the bolder V-groove 13 to fix the optical fiber 2 and the substrate 10. The adhesive 3 is injected into the V-groove 12 in the state of pressing the optical fiber 2 and, therefore, the optical fiber 2 is fixed in an exact position without the occurrence of a clearance between the optical fiber 2 and the inside surface of the V-groove 12.
