PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous resin dispersion capable of forming coating films exhibiting excellent long-term weatherability, specifically, excellent gloss retention, crack resistance, blister resistance, yellowing resistance, etc., and also having high adhesion to substrates, in particular high adhesion to soft films, and excellent in water resistance, stain resistance and solvent resistance. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin dispersion essentially contains (A) a polymer made by polymerizing (a) a polymerizable monomer component containing 0.1-10 wt.% of polymerizable ultraviolet-stable monomer and/or polymerizable ultraviolet-absorbing monomer and (B) a hydrazine compound having at least two hydrazino groups in the molecule.
