PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a time for scanning and searching plural programs differing in reproduced data transfer bit rate proportional to an effective reproduction time of each program. SOLUTION: Relating to this reproducing device, at the time of scan-search for reproducing necessary data in audio or video data by an optical pickup 2 from an optical disk 20 rotated by a spindle motor 1, a system control part 17 reads title set administration information from a title set administration information memory part 13, and obtains the final position data, the initial position data, and the reproduction time of each program in the above-mentioned range to be scanned and searched, and based on the quotient obtained by dividing what the initial position data are subtracted from the final position data of each above-mentioned program by the reproduction time of the above program, the system control part decides a relative address amount per one scan- search operation of the program part, and performs similar processing for each program.
