PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue display of external communication equipment even when a line is switched from the external communication equipment to main communication equipment by displaying an 10 on the caller side on the external communication equipment, simultaneously monitoring a state of detection of the ID on the caller side of the external communication equipment, detecting and displaying the ID on the caller side. SOLUTION: A CAR signal coming from a communication line 1-1 is detected by an external N.D. telephone set, a detection sequence of a telephone number on the caller side to be executed after primary response is monitored by a monitor circuit, information about the telephone number on the caller side is obtained and displayed on a display part 1-7 by facsimile equipment 100 as well. The telephone number on the caller side is displayed on both of the facsimile equipment 100 and the external N.D. telephone set in the case of an operator call after switch of FAX/TEL is received by switching the communication line from the external N.D. telephone set to the facsimile equipment 100 after the primary response and execution of the detection sequence of the telephone number on the caller side and simultaneously simulating the line for the external N.D. telephone set.
