PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of promptly coping with changes in characteristic of a motor-driven fan and specifications relating to control. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a control means 23 for controlling a motor-driven fan 2, a nonvolatile storage means 22 for storing a plurality of control values whereby the control means 23 controls inputs to the motor-driven fan 2, and a control means 23. The control means 23 reads the amount of phase control matching one operational mode and, depending on the amount of phase control, determines parameters such as amounts of phase control in all operational modes, so that changing some of the parameters allows changing all the related parameters.
