Each nozzle comprises a conical mantle (4) with a nozzle exit (6) in its bottom opening (5), connected to water and compressed air supplies in order to blow a jet of water droplets into the furnace combustion chamber. A device (1) for reducing environmentally harmful emissions from furnaces with burners, especially rotary furnaces, comprises a ring with nozzles arranged around the burner, and pipes (9, 12, 14) for air (11) and water (10). Each nozzle comprises a conical mantle with an opening in the bottom and a nozzle exit centrally positioned in the opening. The channel extending through the nozzle exit is used to transport water from a pipe (9) and the tubular end (63) of this exit. An inlet opening in the nozzle exit is connected to a pipe (12) supplying compressed air. Pipes (13) for fan air (13) are connected to a distributor chamber (15) for guiding it through the nozzle opening into the furnace combustion chamber. An Independent claim is also included for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions using this device, in which compressed air is used to form jets of water droplets sprayed into the furnace. |
