The present invention can be used in automobiles or other vehicles as well as in equipment provided with engines. In a first embodiment, the working mixture ignition method involves generating an electric discharge in the ignition area in order to create a flame. The flame formation volume is limited by the volume of a static torsion generator in the shape of a truncated cone or truncated pyramid. The angle of the axial section at the summit of the cone, when imagining the continuation of the truncated cone, or the angle of the axial section at the summit of the cone representing the truncated pyramid, when imaging the continuation thereof, is lower than pi /2. In a second embodiment, the working mixture ignition method involves generating an electric discharge in the ignition area, generating a torsion field in said ignition area and using said field for acting on the working medium, wherein the parameters of the torsion field define those of the flame. The device for realising this method comprises a body with electrodes, wherein at least one electrode comprises an opening in the shape of a truncated cone or truncated pyramid. The angle of the axial section at the summit of the cone, when imagining the continuation of the truncated cone, or at the summit of the cone representing the truncated pyramid, when imaging the continuation thereof, is lower than pi /2. |
