[Class 80 (ii)] In a motor-cycle, a spring-engaged clutch 6 arranged within a cover 21 at one side of the gear box is controlled by a lever 9 arranged within a cover 12 at the other side of the gear box and actuated by a Bowden cable 8, the lever being secured to a quick-pitch hollow screw 10 mounted in a threaded boss 11 of the cover 12 while a thrust rod 13, passing through the hollow gear shaft 7, is interposed between the clutch pressure plate 6<1> and a member 16 adjustably threaded in the screw 10. The member 16, which carries a knob 17 accessible outside the cover 12 and which abuts against the rod 13 through a ball 20, is retained in adjusted position by a spring-loaded ball 18 co-operating with grooves in the screw 10. An inspection aperture in the cover 21 is closed by a removable plate 23. |
