ABSORBENT RESIN COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A process of an absorbent resin composition having excellent absorbing, deodorizing and non-irritating characteristics by directly spraying a mono molecular compound solution containing a carboxyl group to a manufacturing or manufactured absorbent or properly mixing and then selectively mixing a filler as fumed silica therewith is provided which can be used for the manufacture of absorbent articles such as diapers and sanitary napkins. CONSTITUTION: The absorbent resin composition is prepared by mixing 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of a mono molecular compound solution containing a carboxyl group and 0 to 10 parts by weight of a filler as fumed silica based on 100 parts by weight of the absorbent resin composition. The composition helps to prevent or reduce diaper rash and control odor and has excellent absorbing property such that it is useful as a diaper and a sanitary napkin. The absorbent resin is a crosslinked product of a polyacrylic acid partially neutralized product, a hydrolysate of a starch-acrylonitrile graft polymer, a neutralized product of a starch-acrylic acid graft polymer, a neutralized product of a vinyl acetate acrylic acid ester copolymer, a hydrolysate of an acrylonitrile copolymer or a hydrolysate of an acrylamide copolymer.
