PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical transmitter device where a transmission state can be confirmed even from a remote place by mounting a visual light LED into a transmission LED and a direction of a transmitter can be controlled. SOLUTION: The transmitter is equipped with a plurality of (two or over) infrared ray LEDs 108 for the transmission purpose and also with a visual light LED 109 operated by the same power supply as that of the infrared ray LEDs 108. A user can confirm lighting of the visual light LED 109 in the infrared ray LEDs 108 equipped with the optical transmitter device at a receiving point of a receiver 102 so that the user can clearly confirm the operating state of the transmitter even from the receiving point. Or a CCD camera 104 with higher sensitivity in an infrared ray region is placed in the vicinity of a reception section 103, the user views an output of the CCD camera on a monitor 107 to confirm a light output 110 emitted from the transmitter 101 as an optical pattern 106. The light output 110 can maximally be received by adjusting an angle of the transmitter so that the monitor 107 displays the optical pattern 106 most sharply.
