摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a touch operation position properly regardless of the operating form of a touch tracer. SOLUTION: When a finger touches an input pad for making touch operation, check is made as to whether the non-sensing condition exists where an infrared ray is not intercepted by an upper vertical sensing line and a lower vertical sensing line, and determination is passed for where the touch operating position exists in the vertical direction, i.e., whether it lines in the upper, the middle, or the lower parts (steps 100-112). Another checking is made as to whether the non-sensing condition is made by the right-hand crosswise sensing line and the left-hand crosswise sensing line and determination is passed for where the touch operating position exists in the crosswise direction, i.e., whether it lies at the left, in the center, or on the right (steps 114-122). In this way, when determination of the touch operation position in the vertical direction and cross- wise direction is completed, the result from determination is output (step 124).</p>
