PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stabilization of running of a running device by surely holding heads on a pipe wall by leg parts while stabilizing running of the running device by supporting a base to the pipe wall, and preventing an influence on operation of an actuator. SOLUTION: This running device comprises: a fixed head 30A and a movable head 30B provided in a front and rear end parts of a base 20; drive actuator 33 driving the movable head 30B to two positions of an advancing position F, and a retracting position R; a pair of upper and lower leg parts 40 provided in each head abutting on a pipe wall to hold the head to the pipe wall, and movable to two positions of an abutting position X and separating position Y; leg part support mechanism 50 movably supporting the leg parts 40 to the head; and a moving actuator 51 moving the leg parts 40 to two positions. A running mechanism 21 running the base contacting to the pipe wall is provided on the base 20, to make the leg parts 40 of the fixed head 30A and movable head 30B alternately abut on the pipe wall, also at each time to forward/ backward move the movable head 30B to run in a pipe.
